  • Similar to appeasement, many of the requests made by the Soviets were granted
  • So, they gave the Soviets Poland

Truman Doctrine

• Containment
• Support nations with both military and economic aid if threatened by Communism

Marshall Plan

• Gave economic support to help rebuild Europe after World War II.
